I recently heard of THE MEMORY GENE by Glen McCord while involved in McCord Family research and read it in a short time. I too wish there were more. Glenn McCord is certainly a well educated author who researches his material from all perspectives. He has used his family, which happens to be a branch off mine, to tell his story that flows freely and is filled with all the pride, tragedy, comedy and true life happenings that most asuredly occured in those days during the 1860s. It just so happened that he reports on one of his McCord ancestors who was a patient in a hospital in Augusta, GA while one of my McCord ancestors was a physician there. I know the size of the hospital and it would have been almost impossible for them to have not met. Wonder what they talked about? Maybe Glen will tell me in his next book.
