I went to the Nationa Park Services's Soldiers and Sailors System website and found "James T. Daniel" listed as a member of Co. E, 3rd Ga Reserves. If you haven't done it already, you need to order his compiled service record from either the National Archives or from the Georgia Dept. of Archives and History ( www.sos.state.ga.us/archives/ ). Unfortunately, the compiled service records for the 3rd Ga Reserves are not very complete. If I'm not mistaken, I believe that the last muster roll on file in the compiled service records for the 3rd Ga Res. is for Sept-Oct 1864. Also, be sure to contact the Georgia Archives to see if he filed for a pension.
I checked the Augusta Ga newspaper article about the casualties of the 3rd Ga Reserves at the engagement near Coosawhatchie SC ( see posting of Eileen McAdams ) and found members of Co. E who were wounded in the fighting there.
