Re: GA 31st Inf. Co. E
In Response To: GA 31st Inf. Co. E ()

Stacey,

Company E, the "Bartow Guards", was composed of recruits
primarily from Stewart County, in SW Georgia. The county seat is Lumpkin. There may have been a few men from neighboring Chattahoochee County, as well.

My roster has this on Roland R. Moore:

"B.1842 in GA. Farmer. Enl. 12/17/61, private. Served
as a teamster. Wounded at Chantilly, VA, 9/1/62. Appears last on roll dated 4/30/64."

Sincerely,
