In Response To: Re: GA 31st Inf. Co. E ()

According to the book about the 31st Georgia Georgia, James L. Dunaway was born on Nov. 16, 1838, John Mathis Dunaway on June 27, 1840, Thomas R. Dunaway on July 7, 1843.

Thomas R. Dunaway was killed at Gaines Mill, Va., June 27, 1862.
James L. Dunaway was wounded in the left leg in the "Mule Shoe" fighting near Spotsylvania Courthouse, Va., May 12, 1864. He fell into Federal hands and apparently died of wounds.
John M. Dunaway was elected 2nd Lieutenant of his company. Wounded in the Battle of the Monocacy, Md., July 9, 1864, during Early's march on Washington, he surrendered with Lee's army at Appomattox Courthouse, Va., Apr. 9, 1865.

John M. Dunaway's widow applied for a pension in his name as a resident of Wilcox County, Ga.

I don't see Charles M. Dunaway or C. A. Harwell on the militia register for the State of Georgia.
