You need William R. Scaife's book on the Atlanta Campaign, which is based on maps such as this one for the Battle of Atlanta, July 22, 1864:

The 40th Alabama Regiment was part of Alpheus Baker's Alabama Brigade, Clayton's Division, and documentation of Lickskillet Road (AKA Battle of the Poorhouse, July 28, 1864) will not mark positions of individual regiments. Brigade level maps such as Scaife's are the best available today. The map will show brigades of Clayton's Division attacking from east to west, directly towards the apex of the Union line near the chapel.

Personally I prefer the Southern names given above for this unfortunate conflict. Casualties in Confederate ranks were inordinately high, and the dead were buried by Federal soldiers in long trenches the following day.
