The Library of Congress holds the National Tribune from 1877 to 1917; the U.S. Army War College library, in Carlisle, PA, holds 1877-1900 and 1902-1917. Both institutions should lend individual microfilm reels through the interlibrary loan borrowing system. Initiate a request thru your local public library.

Gettysburg Nat'l Military Park library holds a collection of the National Tribune on microfilm as well. I'm not sure if they have a gap in their holdings. Western Reserve Historical Society, Cleveland, Ohio, holds 1883-1916. They do not lend their microfilm.

It should be noted, too, that Gettysburg Nat'l Military Park has limited facilities for making hard copies for researchers from the microfilm.

I believe, too, that Antietam National Battlefield holds a microfilm set of the Nat'l Tribune.

Dr. Richard Sauers has compiled an index to the National Tribune. Approx 10 years ago he privately published a small portion of that massive indexing project. At this time he is seeking a publihsed for the complete, comprehensive index.

The National Tribune did publish, beginning in 1909, several hardbound volumes under the title of the National Tribune Scrapbook. The library at the Army War College (Carlisle Barracks, PA) has these volumes,. They are quite rare and extremely hard to find.

Many libraries throughout the country have small segments of this collection. To my knowledge, only a handful of these articles have ever been potsed on the internet.
