Alan...thanks for the tip. I visit the Tenn and the Kentucky Boards very often and have found excellent information on both boards.

I agree with you that this is a very interesting unit. I have purhased three rolls of micro film from the National Archives that are supposed to contain all of the documents relating to the Combined Service Records of the men from Georgia who served in the Confederate military.

Our library is in the process of being rebuilt due to a mold problem inside the building, therefore I am unable to have access to a film reader unless I drive out of my area.

I look forward with interest to any info that I may extract from this film. Based on information that I have gleaned over the years, it appears that the 13th/16th Battalion Ga. Cavalry may have been divided and the unit may have had men serving in different Tenn, Kentucky, Georgia,and S.W. Virginia locales. I have found a reference in one book that incates that part of this unit may have been with Early on his attempted invasion of
Washington, D.C. toward the end of the war.
