I live in Heard county and will be glad to check with the ladies of the UDC here. They have alot of information about war units and the area during the war. I know there was a home guard unit right across the Troup county line from Heard county, and the location of their camp. I had a post on here over a year ago about Lott's diary where mentioned the 87th Ga. and one of the fine people on here reported that it was not the 87th but maybe could have been the 37th. I will check on this for you and let you know what all I find out.
