I am looking for records of the employees of the Western & Atlantic Railroad for Jacob B.R.Peters, aka. J.R.Peters, who was working as a section formen over track at Big Shanty when Andrews and his spies stole the "General". I found a Muster Roll of the Employees of the Western & Atlantic Railroad in the Ga. State Archives that lists him as an employee. As I understand, the employees were exempt from Military service, but, in 1864, two companies were formed from the employees for State service, but I have found no other record of Jacob except that he was in the State Militia, Bartow County, 819th District. Would any one know where further records may be found?
