I do have the service record of EC Jackson with the 24th Ga Infantry.
He was admitted to Jackson Hospital on Oct 7, 1864 for VS to L. hand MB. I must assume he lost the finger at this time. He was also hospitalized the next month for what is entered in the remarks as C S B Im not sure what that means. From the dates of actions the 24th was involved it I must assume he was injured in what is called Sheridans campaign in the Shenandoah Valley since the time of the campaign and his injury coincide. There is always lots to learn hanging out at this site. Wish I had more time to do so.

This thread contains some discussion about the same subject. This is where I learned thay my EC Jackson was not the ECJ that was imprisoned at Elmira.
