Thanks for your detailed response. It had a lot of information I hadn't seen before. There was indeed a lot of reorganization going on at that time. Also, after the Kentucky Campaign, the 56th Georgia is assigned to Cummings Brigade in Stevenson's Division and they all head to Vicksburg.
