Lieutenant Jones' widow did not file a Confederate Widow's Pension in Georgia and from what I can tell South Carolina. References referred to were the Index to Georgia Civil War Confederate Pension Files by Virgil White and the South Carolina Department of Archives and History website http://www.archivesindex.sc.gov/onlinearchives/search.aspx

The Battle of Kolb's Farm was a large fight. It was an unauthorized Corp level attack by General John Bell Hood against the Federal right flank. Unfortunately, the soldiers paid the price for the failure of Hood to better prepare for an attack. It is not good practice to execute an attack against three Federal divisions in the defense supported by eight field artillery batteries without having a single Confederate field artillery battery in support.
