Tom: Jacob Warren Vandiver is the youngest brother of George Cornelius Vandiver. All males in the James H. Vandiver (J.W.'s grandfather) served on the Confederate side during the Civil War. All survived except Charles C. (C.C.) Vandiver, who died in a Richmond hospital from disease (probably measles)

have been researching the Vandiver family for approximately 20 years. I have a copy of the application for pension of J. W.'s wife, but unfortunately some details are not legible. However an application for funds from the funeral home for reimbursement indicates that the total cost of her funeral was $75.00 which included a "black dress".

If you have an interest in genealogy, please contact me off board at eggs12345@charter.net. I do not have your name in my data base and would like to gather more data on your grandparents, parents, spouse, children, siblings, etc. I will be happy to exchange data with your.
