Thank you both so much for the information. I had most of it, but was not aware of records in Oklahoma, too. My husband and I were surprised that he seemed to have gone to OK with one of his children and then return back to TN. He had anywhere from 10-12 children and we were surprised that he died at the Confederate Soldiers home rather than living out the rest of his life with his children. I will take the information you have both given me and move forward. It's been a frustrrating journey, but when I get new information it reminds me of why I began this journey. :-)

When my husband and I began this journey (over 12 years ago) - the ONLY thing my father-in-law knew about his dad (Samuel's grandson, Robert Lee Fisher) was his name. We have since located a 2nd cousin and gotten some information and even had a chance to show my father-in-law pictures of his dad (that he had never seen). It seems like every other generation with the Fisher family brings TONS of brick walls.

Thanks again for the information. We really appreciate it!
