Mr Patton,

The closest cavalry was a Virginia brigade under the command of Colonel Thomas t. Munford but they were not involved in the fight at the bridge. There was only one Mississippi cavalry organization, the Jeff Davis Legion, in the ANV during that campaign.

The term "scrambled eggs" is not correct when your referring to the sleeve braid. The term "scrambled eggs" is a slang term used in reference to the gold embroidered oak leaves on the brim of the cap of a field grade (major, lieutenant colonel, and colonel) or general officer for the Army. The other services wear it too but I don't wear those uniforms day to day like I do the Army uniform. The "scrambled eggs" are still worn today but only on the recently reinstated service cap.

For the Confederates, one sleeve braid is lieutenant, two braids captain and major, three braids lieutenant colonel and colonel, four general officer.

When it comes to any sort of accuracy of any type, don't look to hollywood...and when it comes to the War Between the States DON'T expect anything. Look at any of the "history" channels and see how much WBTS programming there is.

I hope this helps.

Respectfully,
