It is a bit off the H.O.W. topic, but regarding Hollywood's depiction of history, I was appalled at the manner in which Robert Redford's film, The Conspirator twisted reality, at least as I understand them. If the book "The Assassin's Accomplice" by Kate Clifford Larsen is to be believed, Mary Surratt was deeply involved in the plot to kill Lincoln -- yet Mr. Redford blithely avoids this in order to paint her as a victim. The real story -- at least the story I believe is real -- was much more interesting.
