Richard, I just came in from the cemetery in LaGrange. Sorry buddy, no luck in the Confederate cemetery. But do not give up, I am not sure where Oliver hospital was located in the town. This cemetery is beside the railroad tracks, which i would think meant that the wounded were brought in by train and one of the hospitals would have been close to the depot. BUT, the same set of tracks run behind the LaGrange city cemetery, which is up the line about a mile from the Confederate cemetery. As the weather keeps getting better and the days longer we will start there and continue our search. He could be buried in the Confederate cemetery as an "Unknown". According to the marker in front of the cemetery there were 4 hospitals in the area, Oliver, St. Mary's (could this have been a church?), Cannon, and Law. I grew up in LaGrange and always heard that the college was used as a hospital, so that may be another avenue to look down. It would help if we knew exactly where Oliver was. Anyone out there with any info would be appreciated. Also, I have a complete list of all the graves in the Confederate cemetery, I will be working on putting them into a document and once finished will be glad to email them to anyone interested. Also there are veterans buried there from every state of the confederacy. including Kentucky, Maryland, and Missouri
