Unfortunately I have no information on your ancestor but in your inquiry you listed people he had corresponded with and one of the names was DuPre. I am researching my Dupree line and have been trying to get information on Elias Dupree (Dufree) who lived in Pendleton, SC per the 1850 Federal Census. He served in Co I, 38th GA Volunteer Infantry. I am curious about the DuPre letter and would like to know the contents. Is it possible for you to share this info with me? I would really appreciate it. There might be a clue in the letter that would help me in my search.
