Thanks but I'm really not interested in the DuPre in the letters. I have found out since that it is probably John Y. DuPre. I wish you well on your research. I am in the same boat with mine as I cannot track him past the 1880 US Census other than his birth date recorded on his grave stone as 3 Oct 1851.
