Alan - Thank you for your post. I have seen "Gone With The Wind" and I believe there were many men literally running for their lives at that point in time. Celathiel was born in 1828 so he was in his mid-30's at the time of the Civil War. He was a production farmer in Marion County GA. I guess he enlisted at an older age than most. I hope to someday find an entry in a hospital record but I think the chances are very slim. Letters he wrote home are available in the GA Archives. Tks...
