Re: Ezra church-- Thomas Howle/Howell dies

Rhonda,
You got my attention when I saw the Howle name in your subject. My mother was a Howle and it is sometimes very difficult to differentiate information from what is mistakenly recorded as Howell. I have verified my lineage as well as the Confederate military records of many Howle men, but they all served from Alabama so unfortunately that is of no value to you. I have a great great uncle named Thomas who served, but he was Thomas H. Howle so that doesn't help you either. As you mentioned in an earlier post, Thomas was a common name in the Howle family as was the name William. My grandfather was William Thomas Howle who was born before the War Between the States. I was born in 1947, and my grandfather Howle was born in 1854 -- no mistake in dates.
Good luck with your Howle research!
