Angelyn: Thank you for your message. I have enough time invested in researching the Indian activity during the Prairie Grove campaign that I should qualify for some sort of degree! Sadly, with all of these hours of research I am still unable to project a defined description of exactly what happened. Like most historians, I trudge along hoping to get that special break that will lead to the answers concerning this subject. My ancestor served under Colonel Stand Watie (later Brig. Gen.) from organization until Doaksville, I. T. 1865.
