Re: Indian Participation - Prairie Grove Campaign

Glenn,

Who was your ancestor(s) in Watie's command. I've got several in the 1st Cher Mtd Vol's and one in Roswell Lee's Battery? Surnames are West, Brewer, Crittenden, Harlan, Taylor. My Martins were all Union soldiers from Indiana.

Though not direct, my ggg-granduncle, was Thomas Fox Taylor, Lt. Col. killed at Bayou Menard, I.T. His sister, Elizabeth Taylor (not the actress) was my ggg-grandmother.

Just curious?

Jim
