I know you men are going to bombard me again as to my source. I stick with Quantrill and his men and worked mainly on them. I checked out the men who fought with them, and would include some of their info.

The OR records state that Sterling Price instructed Stand Watie and men to move into "neutral land and Kansas" and destroy anything the enemy could use. Page 721 Vol. III. Where was neutral land? Would this include Lexington? On pages 690-92, Ben McCulloch authorizes Stand Watie to raise a force and assist him. These dates seem to correspond with the dates of Wilson's Creek and Lexington.

Harry Sinclair Drago in "Outlaws on Horseback" states that Stand Watie was in Wilson Creek and Lexington battles. I don't know what his source was.
