Thanks for the correction and explanation, Lars. I hope and expect that anyone will tactfully speak up to correct misstatements. The goal of the message boards is to share "sourced history" and to "get it right". I wouldn't want to keep believing something incorrect and I don't want others getting incorrect information from something posted on the boards.

Obviously, we post our opinions/conclusions as well, hopefully based on "reliable sources". Having read the available secondary sources -- Knight, Cunningham, Rampp, Chronicles of OK, etc -- I unfortunately file factoids away in my head that in some cases are inaccurate. The message boards continue to help to identify and correct these inaccuracies. The only thing I hate more than being told I'm wrong is not being told!
