The Maxfields allotment started at 56th street and went north (where I grew up). I always heard (and maybe read somewhere) that the Phillips allotment was north from 66th street. Bird creek did run through the area just north of where 66th and Delaware would be located and there was a small branch of Delaware creek ran through the Maxfields allotment. There was a large hill on Maxfields allotment that ran from the 5800 block between what is now Evanston and Gary and went north to about 61st St. The hill was removed when the state ran highway 75 through that area.
