Ken,
This may be of interest,I found a few years ago in O.H.S.--Manual Labor School Chickasaw 1857--the boys,moved from
Wapanucka and it became a girls school the boys had been making bricks, but now General farming work is done.

In Inventory was listed-- 12 H.P.Portable steam motor/station-said used for Gristmills>1857-end of details
I did not pay much mind at that time,maybe used more than thought? Did once have maker/model number etc.
I'll check O.H.S. and find old refer. to article #
