Re: mud creek or mud point, chickasaw nation

Mud Creek is quite a ways west of Ardmore. The mouth of Mud Creek on the Red River is about 20 miles west of I-35. The creek generally flows from northwest to southeast.

Early in the war, Monford Johnson "rode express between the headquarters of the Chickasaw battalion at Fort Arbuckle, and the Texas Troops stationed at the mouth of Mud Creek" (per O'Bierne's Leaders and Leading Men of the Indian Territory).

In a past posting, Patti Rochette located Mud Point at the fork of East Mud Creek and West Mud Creek, southeast of Duncan about half way to Healdton, per the Bourland Papers.

I don't have anything on Camp Simon.
