Rose Mary,

Actually, Bewleyville is two miles west of the Meade County line in Breckinridge County, and is located at the intersection of Highways 333 and 1238. The reason I know this is because I was born in Bewleyville and lived there for several years. Also, according to my grandfather, because many of the families that settled in the Bewleyville area were from Virginia, they tended to be pro southern during the War Between The States. He also stated that Sinking Creek, in Breckinridge County, seemed to be a dividing line for loyalties. It seemed that most of those who lived west of the creek( toward the Hardinsburg area) were pro Union, while those who lived east of Sinking Creek(the Bewleyville area) were more sympathetic to the Confederacy. I have found through research, that there is some truth to this.
