Re: Munfordville KY Civil War sites....

Phil,

You're welcome for the information. To get to the monument from I-65, turn east onto 218(going towards Horse Cave). Less than .2 miles past Hwy 335 (the road for Kentucky Down Under) there is a road on the right, this is Old Dixie Road. Turn right on this road and follow this road for almost a half mile and you will see on the right (the southern side of the road) a mailbox with the name "Horton" painted on it. (This is .5 mile west of Hatcher Valley Road) Stop here. If you look through a opening in the pine trees you will see the monument about 20 yards into the field. The monument is about 12 feet high and made of Tennessee geodes. We have the area around the monument mowed and cleaned up so it is accessible. I hope this is helpful.

John
