In Response To: Clay's or Jenkins Batteries ()

I was just wondering if you have found anything out about Clay's Battery?

I am researching the Battle of Middle Creek in KY. There is a reference to Clay's Calvary. In looking at the battle map at middlecreek.org, they show the referenced Clay's position as 1st Batt. KY Calvary. So, I assume that Clay is attached to this Battery. They also reference Thomas and Holiday in 1st Batt. KY Calvary map positions and a Stone, Cameron and Shawhan in a cavalry Co.

I found a Stone, listed as a Sergeant in Co. G 1st Batt. KY Calvary, who enlisted in Hopkinsville, KY. I also found a reference on this website where I found your post in regards to the 1st KY Cav., Butler's Reg. But that didn't really provide any information beyond the name.

I would just like to know the full names and ranks of these soldiers. Do you think your Clay might be the same Clay I am looking into? Any info you could provide would be appreciated.

Sincerely,

Julie Flanagan
