Help with some details?

I have been reviewing the records of my great great grandfather and found a couple of things about which I was hoping some of you experienced researchers might have some insight. I was able to determine which of the Maraman's from Kentucky was my direct relation after a false start on my part from having confused people who were cousins and and uncle. It has been an interesting process and it is funny how some of the family oral history has seemed to be substantiated, at least in part.

My great great grandfather was Charles A. Maraman, and he served in Co C, 2d Ky Inf Reg, CSA. One of his record cards says to see "P.P. of G. H. Nixon, Major, Report of Guard, Bowling Green, Ky" and it then lists several days in November of 1861. My question is, what does the P.P. stand for, and is there a way to get a copy of that/those records?

As I interpret the other cards, it seems that he was captured at Fort Donelson and imprisoned at Camp Morton. One of the cards, a roll of Camp Morton states that he escaped, however there is another card stating that he was one of the prisoners sent from Camp Morton to Vicksburg for exchange. So, it would appear that his escape was short lived and he was recaptured before the exchange, is that how you would interpret that? Is there any way to verify if he made good on his escape or if he was recaptured and then exchanged? I believe I read that only about 35 people actually permanently escaped from Camp Morton, so I am more inclined to this he was recaptured. The family history was that my G G grandfather and his cousin had both been captured and they had both escaped, but that was the extent of the story. Interesting that it appears to be true to some degree if not completely.

The last records for him show that he was slightly wounded at Murfreesboro and was missing and then he is listed as having been taken prisoner. After that there are no more records. Does anyone have a suggestion on what prison he may have been taken to and if I can find a record of his capture anywhere?

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
