Thanks for you reply. My thoughts were similar to yours. I knew he had deserted and been confined, so I was thinking this may have been some sort of record of his being imprisoned possibly. I was also thinking that he may have just returned home after he was wounded since no prison records exist to cover that time. Thanks again for your insights and help.
