William Milton Patton left wilkes county n.c. and went to ky. n.e. of lexington ky. I am not sure of the time interval that passed. In ky he was an overseer at a plantition n.e.
of lexington ky. when the owner died he maried the owner's wife. he would later lose all because of the civil war. he joined company i eighth ky inf. mounted Confederate.
he was with Morgan when they raided the towns of mt. sterlng ky, lexington ky, etc. they stole a large amount of gold from several banks. He should not have robbed
banks in the area where he lived. he was recognized and a bounty was placed on his head by the state of ky.
On another post I will discuss his time in Camp Douglas Il. etc.
