In Response To: Co D, 7th Louisiana Cavalry ()

Hi Charles,
Just curious as to how you connect to Francois Fontenot & Azelie Richard. This couple are my great grand parents. I too, have been searching for more information on his military service. Mr. Arthur Bergeron posted a response to my message about this subject,a few weeks ago. He says that I might be able to get some information about the movements of this military unit from "the collection of letters written by Lieut. Col. Louis A. Bringier to his wife in 1864-1865. They are found in the Bringier Family Papers, Louisiana and Lower Mississippi Valley Collection, Special Collections, Hill Memorial Library, Louisiana State University." My sister and I plan to go to Baton Rouge to dig into this stuff in the next few weeks. If we find anything, I will post it here on this message board. I would appreciate any information that you might be willing to share, also. My connection to this couple is:

Francois Fontenot m. Aselie Richard
their son is Willie Fontenot m. Maria Carriere
their daugher is Eurella Fontenot m. Leon Duplechain.
I am the daughter of Eurella & Leon.

Many Thanks,
Rita
