I just have to ask.

I would be very interested in Art's version of the OOB including those mysterious "few small units."

I scanned through Art's "Guide to Louisiana Confederate Military Units" after following this thread with interest. Looks like the Red River Scouts Bn, and one or more of the State Guards Battalions just might be included in these "few small units."

And, I hope Gary Joiner's forthcoming books address the lengthy delay in exchanging the units that became Thomas' Louisiana brigade. It would appear that all of the other Vicksburg and Port Hudson parolees were exchanged much earlier, even including the other Trans-Miss units. They could have played a significant role in the 1864 Red River campaign.
