Lt. Daniel P. Smith wrote....

"Near the camp, Private Winslett was instanly killed by a shell while on his way to Battery No. II with the Parrot Gun."

Winslett was a new recruit to the Company, enlisting on December 26, 1862. Smith did not remember his county of residence, but all the new recruits he listed a residence for, came from Autauga, Butler, Conecuh, Lowndes, Mobile, Montgomery, Pike, & Wilcox.
