2nd Louisiana Cavalry Adjutant

As a National Park Service volunteer, I am researching the service record of Jacques Alphonse Prudhomme. Jacques Alphonse served for a year with the 3rd Louisiana Infantry, then served as the Adjutant for the 2nd LA Cavalry. I've not been able to locate records of him between August of 1863, when he is listed as "absent, wounded" (I believe he was still recovering from wounds suffered at Irish Bend) and the end of the war. I am particularly interested in any information regarding his participation during the Red River campaign, as it was fought literally in his backyard. I have one source listing him as mustering out due to wounds out in May 1864, but have been unable to verfiy that. Alphonse's parole lists him as "Lt & Adj." but I've been unable to locate a record showing when he was promoted. Other records show him mustering in and out as a private. Post-war, Jacques Alphonse serves as the Maj. Gen. of the Louisiana chapter of the United Confederate Veterans.

Any information or research direction would be greatly appreciated.
