Thank you, Mr. Parker. Ms. Wernet at the Cammie Henry Research Center told me you were working on the regimental history of the 2nd Louisiana Cavalry. Do you have any information that would indicate that Jacques Alphonse Prudhomme was active with the unit during the Red River Campaign? I know the unit itself was active; what I'm trying to verify is whether Alphonse was them at that time. As I said, the armies literally marched through his own plantation and burned that of his fiance. What he was doing at that time seems to be somewhat of a mystery. The family papers might help, but they are at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and may be in French, which I don't speak.
