Do you have any information that would indicate that Jacques Alphonse Prudhomme was active with the unit during the Red River Campaign? I know the unit itself was active; what I'm trying to verify is whether Alphonse was them at that time. As I said, the armies literally marched through his own plantation and burned that of his fiance. What he was doing at that time seems to be somewhat of a mystery. The family papers might help, but they are at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and may be in French, which I don't speak.
