Although I can't put my hands (or mind) on it right away, I remember reading somewhere that he was at Mansfield on April 8, 1864. I don't know if he was with the remnant of the 2nd LA Cavalry (although it seems very likely), or with the company he had as Natchitoches Parish enrolling officer. The Prud'homme family history indicates that he became enrolling officer in mid-1864, but I remember it occurring somewhat earlier - maybe late 1863.
