The Louisiana in the Civil War Message Board

The only Louisville I know of is modern-day Gansville in northern Winn Parish. It was a thriving town during the Civil War and Monroe's Louisville Avenue is so named because it was the road to Louisville. There were no battles in the area and the only time I know of that the 18th Louisiana passed through was in early 1864 when Gray's Brigade marched from modern-day West Monroe to Alexandria.
