He appears on only one of the companies bi-monthly muster rolls, that being the Jan. & Feb., 1863 muster in which he was recorded as being hospitalized since February 14. The next surviving muster roll is that for the May/Jun, 1863 muster in which his name does not appear. This would seem to indicate that he was dropped from the rolls on the missing Mar/Apr, 1863 muster. The last company muster roll is that for the period Jul/Aug, 1863 in which his name does not appear. I've checked the roster of the consolidated 18th and Yellow Jacket battalion, he is not listed.

J B. G. Laloude, Private, Company B, 18th Regiment Louisiana Infantry,* enlisted December 3, 1862 at Opelousas by Capt. Porter for the war, admitted hospital in New Iberia February 14, 1863, captured at Louisville, La. May 4, 1863, paroled at Grant's Island off Mobile, Ala. May 30, 1863, recorded a deserter June 11, 1863**

* This regiment was discontinued November 12, 1863 and subsequently consolidated with the 10th Battalion and known as the Consolidated 18th Regiment and Yellow Jacket Battalion, Louisiana Infantry

** The reference card in his file, J. B. Lalane (Lalande)***, Co. B, 18th La., notes: Manuscript No. 1502, dated June 11, 1863, which only notes "Deserter", no other notations.

*** There are no men with these names in the roster of the 18th
