GW Wilkerson, Edmund Wilkerson

Hello, I am researching family roots and have reason to believe that my ancestor George W Wilkerson (Co I) and his brother Edmund (Co D) may have been members of the 6th LA Calvary. George is known to have lived near Magnolia Ark and Edmund in Mississippi Township, Columbia Co LA in 1870. Their sister Edna was married to a soldier T S Norris who I know for sure served with the 28th LA Infantry.

Given that they all lived fairly close together in 1870, it seems fairly possible that George and Edmund would also have served in regiments mustered in that area.

Any muster roll that indicates age, birth year, birth state, etc would be very helpful to my efforts to confirm these are my folks.

Thanks very much, Craig Wilkerson, Hilton Head, South Carolina
