Re: GW Wilkerson, Edmund Wilkerson

Hello again George,

When we last corresponded, I had found information indicating my ancestor George W. Wilkerson and his brother Edmond G. may have served with either the 6th LA Calvary or the 10th LA Inf Btln.

Since then, I have verified their brother Sack F. and brother in law Tilmon S. Norris served together in Company A of the 28th LA Infantry. That company was comprised of boys from Bienville Parish.

I also found a history of Bienville Parish that specifically mentioned all four men as having entered service from there.

Lastly, I also found out that the family farm was less than 20 miles from Minden where I read the 6th Calvary was mustered.

This would seem to all add up that George and Edmond more likely served with the 6th than the 10th.

Do you think that's a reasonable conclusion?

Thanks, Craig
