Does anyone have information about the county(ies) of origin of the different companies of Jackman's Regiment? I'm particularly interested in where Company "G" was recruited. Has anyone looked at the CMSR's of the men of Jackman's Regiment and can you give me an idea of how extensive most of the information is on these CMSR's?

Also, I've seen a reference to an "official" name of Jackman's Regiment as the 16th Missouri Infantry (Mounted) was this ever officially adopted or does anyone know where this reference might have come from?

Any info on Sidney Jackman and Jackman's regiment would be appreciated. I believe the George C. Newton, a sergeant in Company "G" of this unit is my gg-grandfather.
