Review of the available data from State Archives indicates the following:

John Shew age 19 enlisted Capt Rice Co I 10th Missouri State Militia later the 3rd MSM native of Madison Co. KY, Lived in Ralls Co, MO at time of enlistment. Killed with Maj Wilson. 5'9" Dark Hair and eyes, fair compelxion, single, farmer.

William C Grotts, age 19 enlisted Capt Rice Co I 10th Missouri State Militia later the 3rd MSM native of Nauvoo Hancock Co Illinois, mustered St Louis MO with brother John F Grotts (deserted Mexico, MO 1862) Killed with Maj Wilson, 5'8" red hair, dark eyes, light complexion, single, farmer. Resident of Pike Co. Illinois at time of enlistment.

William F Gourley, age 20 enlisted Capt Rice Co I 10th Missouri State Militia later the 3rd MSM native and resident of Pike Co Missouri, Taken prisoner at battle of Ponders Mill, shot with Maj. Willson. Appointed Rank Corporal June 6 1862. 5' 10 1/2" Light hair, blue eyes, fair complexion, single, farmer.

William F Evans, age 27, enlisted Capt Rice Co I 10th Missouri State Militia later the 3rd MSM native of Monroe Co ILL, resident of Middletown, Montgomery Co MO. Died of wounds from fall from horse at Bowling Green MO on Sept 24, 1862, 5'9", dark hair, grey eyes, dark complexioned, married, farmer.

William Scaggs unknown age, enlisted Capt Rice Co I 10th Missouri State Militia later the 3rd MSM taken prisoner with Maj Wilson and shot. No other information.

I find no record of a Hollow Oley or a Holloway of note on record.

Maj Wilson was single aged 27 5'11 3/4" tall fair hair, grey eyes, dark complexioned, single, farmer, native of Prince Georges Co Maryland and resident of Millwood, Lincoln Co MO at time of enlistment in Co G 3rd MSM.

So I suspect that the monument in Louisiana is more connected with Captain Hiram A Rice. A resident of Louisiana MO at the time of enlistment in Louisiana aged 45 as 1st Lt, Co I 3rd MSM elected Captain June 6 1862 at time compnay was mustered in St. Louis MO.

I doubt the bodies are buried in Lousiana MO as most were not "home town boys". Evans and Oley had no direct connection to the shooting of Maj Wilson.
