Sherman Lee Pompey also compiled a pamphlet about the 7th Cavalry MSM (USA), and there are very few copies still existing. I seem to recall seeing a copy in Warrensburg, MO at either the UCM Library on campus or in the Johnson County Historical Society there in town. I seem to recall that Pompey wrote that in partial credit for an advanced degree, but I last saw that in about 1974. Seeing that pamphlet, I would guess very few copies of any of his works were made.

I said all that to emphasize to you how rare Sherman Lee Pompey's pamphlets are and give you an idea how hard they may be to find. With that in mind I encourage you to shoot high--that is, contact the Missouri State Historical Society at Columbia to start with. You may attempt Interlibrary Loan using your local library to see what they show. There won't be many copies around.
