Neil, here are the casualties I have for the action at (Ashley's Station and Jones' hay station, Arkansas, 8-24-1864) 9th Iowa and 8th and 11th Mo. Cav. US-- Union, 5 killed and 41 wounded; --Confederate, 60 wounded, units not listed. The confederates show none killed, this can't be right. This could be another reason why they hid the graves in the woods on the farm. R.D.
