Im not related to him. My Taylors are from Rutherford and Bedford county Tennessee. Charles Taylor went to Missouri with Daniel Boone. Im not sure if there is another Taylor male between him an Silas Taylor. A Silas Taylor is listed in the 10th missouris roster. He is my 5th great grandpaw.. Silas and Charles are old family names. I saw a pic of Fletcher and was sure we were related. He favors all the Taylor males in my family in the face and build. I live on the Tennessee Kentucky border and a lot of people from here setteled missouri. Wood Hite and Frank and Jesses mom grew up not 15 miles from where I live. My aunt is a direct descendant of the them.
I was told early on that my grandpaw silas and his brothers/cousins were missouri partisan rangers. I dont have any info between Tennessee and when they resurfaced in crawford/harrison county indiana across the river from kentucky in the 1870's. I was told that frank and jesse hid out at the farm and my family was very secretive about where they where from. Story has it that Charles Taylors brother Wilsons family hid them out. silas's son charles married wilsons graddaughter. Yep my family tree takes an upward path at this point lol! I dont know for sure where Silas went after the war. I was told that half the family fled to Texas and started over. Charles was hidden out in Iowa and eventually made his way south around age 15 in 1866.The names on my side always went charles silas charles silas. Each generation carried on the name. We originally came from Scotland and are a sept of clan cameron. The first Charles hit north carolina in 1653. Charles and Wilson fought indians with Daniel and Squire Boone. after the war of 1812 Wilson got a land grant across the river from Louisville Ky and Charles went to present day ST Louis with Daniel Boone.
