Thanks for posting the hint on the article. I'm just now completing a review on Price's Campaign that deals with the eastern part of his advance into Missouri. I was enthralled by the descriptions in some of the literature. I covered mainly the Battle of Fort Davidson and Pilot Knob, Shelby's calvary movement that captured Potosi, and the chase of Ewing to Leasburg by Shelby and Marmaduke. These were tough times for the Confederacy, but throughout I thought that in this first part of the campaign, both sides concentrated on their objectives, whether they achieved them or not.
